Max was the first dog Brenda Adams had even shown.  After a rocky start in the show ring, Max and Brenda took some handling lessons so that she would learn what he needed to do to be a success in the ring.  After a few lessons, they went back into the ring and Max won his first Major.  There was no turning back from then on.  Max finished his championship on February 24, 2002.   

December 3, 2003 was an exciting day in Max's show career.  He won Best in Breed and Best Bred-By-Exhibitor at the 3rd Annual Eukanuba AKC National Invitational. This is a very prestigious win for any dog, but even more so because Max was awarded the win over several top Australian Cattle Dogs in the country.  He and I were featured on Animal Planet  showing in this event.

In 2005 we decided to start showing him again.  Max picked up three group placements and many breed wins finishing the year in the top 10 with an invitation to the Eukanuba cup.  He attended the 2005 National Specialty in Lebanon, TN where he made it to the final cup in the breed competition.  He was also awarded second in the stud dog competition.  He was officially retired shortly following the national.
